DPR’s $250.00 registration fee covers pool time for workouts, two (2) fulltime coaches salaries, USA Swimming registration (Athlete, Coach, Club), and team uniform (suit, cap, t-shirt). The DPR fee is a registration fee for the swim team.
DC Wave Booster Club $350.00 fee covers meet entry fees for the club, travel, assistant part-time coach’s salaries, team socials and outings, and annual awards banquet. The DC Wave Booster Club fee is a program fee.
The Booster Club and their fees are intended to enhance the experience of each athlete by providing events and outings for swimmers, while also providing support to the DC Wave Swim Team.
For full participation on the DC Wave Swim Team membership with the DC Wave Booster Club is strongly encouraged. The Booster Club handles meet entry fees for the club along organizing any travel trips the team may take, team socials and outings, and the annual end of the year awards banquet. Failure to join the Booster Club would prevent your swimmer from taking part in fun and enriching events hosted/sponsored by the Booster Club.
The selection of a uniform vendor must go through a bidding process with DC Government. A scope of work for the type of suits, caps, and shirts as already been submitted to the Aquatics Office. A requisition of work was submitted week of October 4, 2011, and the individual vendors should be contacted by week end October 14, 2011. Once a vendor is selected the uniform order can be placed and we should have our suits within a matter of weeks.
The coaches select the events and meets for swimmers. These selections may be discussed with your coach. As a parent, you are required to be informed regarding meet dates, meet locations and the time of day your child will swim. You should also be aware of nutrition guidelines for your child before and at meets.
Swim meet information will be placed on the bulletin board at your practice site. If this information is unavailable, ask your coach or check the meet schedule on the website.
The Booster Club will send an email prior to meets and ask for volunteers, or check the Volunteer page on the website.
